Local Businesses Gain Insight into High Speed Innovation and Entrepreneurship

24/05/2010

Over 70 local entrepreneurs and innovators gathered at the AMP Technology Centre in Rotherham recently for a key networking event which highlighted the importance of these factors in the adrenaline fuelled worlds of high speed sport.

The AMP was the venue for the latest meeting of the E3 Entrepreneurs Forum; a network which exists solely to help entrepreneurs help other entrepreneurs, by making contacts, building relationships, supporting each other, stimulating ideas, winning business together and celebrating success. E3 is unique in that it is run by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs, and is strictly for entrepreneurs only.

The theme for the evening was related to innovation and entrepreneurship through technology, and guests listened to presentations from Kristan Bromley, 3-time Winter Olympian and CEO of AMP-based Bromley Technologies Ltd, and rising Karting star, Russell Danzey from Sheffield.

Whilst Kristan and Russell compete in different sports and are at different stages of their careers they gave the audience common messages in terms of the determination, commercial savvy and understanding of high technology that is required to succeed.

Whether that is Russell's aim to progress from karting up the motorsport ladder to Formula One, or Kristan's challenges, both of competing at international level in his sport, and developing Bromley Technologies to be a world-class sports product and performance engineering consultancy company.

The event was hosted by the AMP Technology Centre. Paul Taylor, Director of Creative Space Management which managed the AMP Technology Centre on behalf of Yorkshire Forward, explained the reasoning behind the decision to support the event.

"The ethos behind all the companies located in the Technology Centre is based around the principles of innovation and entrepreneurship, although the companies are working in the fields of manufacturing and technology these principles are not exclusive to this sector.

So we were pleased to be able to host the E3 Entrepreneurs Forum here at the Technology Centre, and potentially in some small way help nurture that entrepreneurial spirit in the area, whilst also showcasing the range of meeting and conference facilities that we have here."

Jill White, from E3 commented on the success of the event; "We're really happy that the AMP Technology Centre was able to host the event, as it's an inspiring venue. The combination of the venue, the talks from Kristan and Russell, and an excellent buffet from PJ Taste mean that the E3 members had a really enjoyable and enlightening evening."
