Growth & skills – Finding and keeping the best people 31st January 2012

31/01/2012

It’s not just team GB that will be facing a challenging year in 2012 – ever increasing pressure to stay ahead of global competitors is a challenge for all.

As entrepreneurs we all face these issues - so how do we attract the best talent, keep it within our businesses, manage it effectively to get the best results and keep it motivated over time?

Julie Kenny CBE DL, the entrepreneur behind Rotherham-based Pyronix, will draw upon her roles as Chair of the British Security Industry Association, Commissioner with the UK Commission of Employment and Skills and her close liaison with local and national government to share with us her vision for building a winning team and winning business at gold medal standards. Julie's own team are world class and we know our debate this evening will also be of a similar standard - she truly is a champion of our region.

Nigel Brewster, Managing  Director of 'Brewster McBride' recruitment consultants, will also share his thoughts. Brewster McBride has grown from start up in July 2011 to become the largest recruitment business in Doncaster employing just under 20 staff and looking to open offices in Leeds in March 2012 and Sheffield in summer 2012. Nigel will draw upon his current and past roles including being Private Sector Board Member on the Sheffield City Region Local Enterprise Partnership where he has specific responsibility for the skills work stream.
